Writing

Writing is part of my making. In the beginning (prompted and unprompted) I wrote childhood stories, journals, dreams, (questionable) poetry, essays, film reviews for the uni mag and close readings. I’m grateful and pleased to say that my writing practice, while growing with me and in specificity, remains varied in form. I still journal, and write poetry sporadically, but now I’ve moved through some postgraduate academia to arrive at art writing. I liken it to food writing – exhibitions, artworks as sumptuous and nourishing to me as meals are. The point of this website and this page is because they’ve reached a critical mass and I am showing no signs of slowing down, quite the opposite. I thought I had better have somewhere to put it all.

Art Writing

This page contains my published art writing including exhibition catalogue essays, reviews and responses, links to audio descriptions, and the odd self-published review exclusive to this website.

Poetry

Here you will find my published poems, snippets from my Honours year poetry portfolio and a current workbook (not to be found anywhere else).

Critical Studies

This is a broad category that contains attentive writings that may or may not be about art, snippets of my research practice, and close readings. Some of these may be more academic in tone, some may be a result of my work in the Attention Studies writing group.
